Minx popped around after her visit to (ahem) have a good time with a boy So as not to get her or Finn too excited, she remained in the ute for the duration. Osama bin Shadow, la terrorista, made it perfectly clear to everyone that she was the one being visited, not Gemma [...] For those that said it Couldn’t Be Done. The little man did something completely unexpected just now. I had to repeat the exercise to be sure it wasn’t a fluke. He fetched a ball! He ran out, picked it up, carried it back, and dropped it right at my feet, bouncing around for me [...] With intermittent rain this afternoon, it seemed a perfect time to do a bit of training. Walker will now walk forward several metres to touch the target hand, and even keep going if it moves forward (at least sometimes.) He’s learning to heel. Without a lead of course. He’s also had a recognisable go [...] The weather has been… unpredictable today, but as luck would have it we missed the rain by minutes. Our second walk of the day was mid afternoon instead of evening because I’m busy tonight, and I wanted to make sure Shadow and Walker got a good workout. There’s somewhat of a difference between Walker’s [...] Auntie Jacqui dropped in for a visit a few hours ago to check on his progress. I’m pleased to report that this afternoon, after seeing Gemma and Shadow enjoy a bit of grooming, he actually stood to be brushed. Not at first, mind you – but when he realised that this wasn’t going to [...] Shadow is now getting the idea of walking on the left, passing on the left, and keeping up. Of course, she’s not doing it to me, she’s heeling to Walker’s shoulder instead of mine. Little Shadow, at almost 38% of the mass, does 80% of the leash tugging. Out of all proportion to her [...] Walker is having some difficulty ‘loosening up’ and realising that it is perfectly OK to offer behaviours. Every pooch I’ve introduced to a clicker has responded positively to the sound/reward in a matter of minutes, but he seems locked into an apprehension zone. In the end, I had to go right back to basics [...] The kids are all konked out from excitement and the heat today. The good news is that my LCD monitor’s CF (compact flash) reader is working again, thanks to a tiny jeweller’s screwdriver. Two of the tiny gold pins had bent together and could barely be seen as such to a knowing eye. I [...] Walker, Clanheath Designa Knite arrived a week earlier than expected.
