Mixed results at Queanbeyan

Mother nature was not very kind to us today, at our first Obedience trial (a double!) since the State Titles.

Gemma breaks through the UD barrier!

The morning trial was going very well, right up to the troublesome “distance sit” in the Signals exercise.  She stood crooked, and was distracted by something to her left.  She did the “down” part, but ignored the “Sit” cue, and thus failed the entire trial.

A-Knurling we will go…

Another session today with the knurled metal articles, of at least 14 attempts… and she got the right object each and every time.  I laid out a complete set of decoys (unscented) and used each of seven knurled metal objects, with varying amounts of “effort” into the scenting-up in my hands.
