Gem’s ear is back to normal, and she’s getting about with no discomfort from her leg. Another week or so should put that behind her… and she’s even losing weight at a steady rate now… … but I’ve been noticing the pre-amble signs of her coming into season now for a while; she’s been [...] Oh dear. I’m glad we put the six-trials-and-six-shows in 10 days at the South Coast in the “too hard” basket this year. Between hiring transport for myself and four dogs, accommodation, entries, food, and the sheer logistics of handling two not-entirely, and two entirely trustworthy dogs with no secure yard… it was just too [...] Good news/Bad news as it commonly happens. The bad news is that we flubbed our run in Agility tonight; Gemma missed the down contact on the dogwalk and the seesaw(?) on her first “official” ADX trial. The good news is that she was surprisingly fast, and she didn’t show any signs of discomfort! Of [...] It’s becoming a nightmare! We go out for a walk for 10-30-60 minutes, and along the way at least one of us (me included!) gets one of those *&^(*&^()& sharp seeds in our socks or the soles of our feet. Afterwards, I have to spend almost as much time removing the seeds as we [...] So far, exactly according to schedule. Heather stopped fussing within a few minutes of “lights-out” and was quiet until well after 8am. Her bouts in the morning were much shorter, the gaps between longer. She’s ‘getting it.’ She even spent about half-an-hour stretched out on my lap before bed, completely relaxed. I’m afraid [...] I’m afraid I might have gotten to the bottom of Gemma’s occasional limp. She woke up this morning limping, and it wasn’t because of anything she’d walked on this morning – so it was either muscular, or something brought on by the dismal conditions last night at Agility. Which we bombed. I’m not surprised [...] Walker and Shadow had their first ‘solo’ walks today – just me for company and (ahem) control. Walker had a walk around the park at the lake for a half hour or so, and Shadow in the area close to home. Both were fairly well mannered, though Shadow was her ever-determined high-octane self.
