It hardly seems like it, but it’s been a full year since Heather and her brothers entered this world, in the wee small hours of the 21st of June 2009. I managed to separate her from her Partner in Grime, Shadow, for just long enough to get her clean and off to a faraway [...] A week or two ago, I put the coat-rake through Finn’s hair and in one stroke it came out full (40mm tynes!). 30 minutes later, he was giving no more… but there were two plastic shopping-bags full of undercoat and his girth was down by 20% or more. Two days ago, I gave him [...] Gemma, Maxi, Styx and Banner et al really started behind the 8-ball today. Their UD ring was stomped flat by the Agility trial the day before, and was chock-full of scents and interesting diversions. In the seek-backs, it was more like blind-man’s bluff! Gemma did pretty well, but just short of OC level. Even [...] Gemma was entered in four classes today (JDO, JDX, ADX and SD). Her open run was very forgettable. Her JDX run was surprisingly good considering how long we had to wait for it, and how twisty the course was. In the end, the only thing that got her was the final jump! She gave [...] A small trial today, only a handful of dogs. Finn was the second of two dogs in Novice. Considering he’s only done the full set of exercises about six times, and the stays only twice (including today!) he did remarkably well. I was actually more worried about handling him than his performance; I haven’t [...] |
