Saturn must finally have entered the correct house, because months after it was essentially completed, it is finally open! Either that, or someone finally got around to taking bolt-cutters to the chains on the doors! In an apparent attempt to create the only dog-poo-free area around Lake Tuggeranong, the enclosure has been sealed off [...] Practice UD round at the club today. We were also breaking in a new set of leathers (as well as the knurls). Seekback: perfect, she tracked like a bloodhound Directed Jumping: she bolted to the square, turned, faced square on, and sat, then bolted over the jumps. Near perfect. Scent Discrim: Wood, I hardly [...] No long wait last night, just five dogs. Seekback? Good, but she was disturbed by barking dogs just before she did the sit-in-front, and took a while. Directed Jumps? Both good. Scent Discrim? Wood and Leather, near perfect. Practically pounced on them on the run-out. Metal? Found it just as quickly, but wouldn’t pick [...] Gemma had another go at Novice Agility today, and blew the weavers again. Despite doing practice at home and nailing the entries over and over… …but then less than an hour later she did nail her second Jumping pass, and another second place. Only one more to go before she gets her “JD” title. [...] It’s been a while since we have qualified at a trial, since we’ve been entering only UD and Agility trials for a while now (and only two Agility trials at that.) Tonight, the drought broke. Gemma earned her first “Jumping” pass, and the first magic piece of cardboard since September 2007 Second place, [...] Oh well. Instinct told me that the weather forecast was very unfavourable, and our chances slim… but we had to go purely on principle and force of habit. It was actually slightly harder than I thought to keep everyone happy and under control for the weekend – having no fences and being forced to [...] |
