Sooty, Melody and Bandit are now accounted for (though no deposits have been taken yet.) If things go the way they are likely to at the moment, I will be voting with my brain instead of my emotions and everyone will be satisfied. It boils down to whether Zoe or Shadow stays here. Logic [...] Unfortunately, though, the law dictates that you have one. The pups went for a trip this afternoon to get their microchips. Some day it may save their lives, if they get lost while out exploring. Surprisingly enough, the actual procedure didn’t even elicit a squeak, let alone a complaint. The only thing they protested [...] The reality of the pups going away soon begins to hit. [...] With only a week to go before the kids leave home at 8wks (not 18 years, or 28+ years as humans do…) I thought it was time for a change of scenery. I’ve been struggling to use my kitchen for the last two months, stumbling over the crèche several times a day. It was [...] Reclaiming the kitchen at last. [...] The pups learn the lessons they need to be independent from Gemma. [...] Well… it’s very hard to satisfy everyone. There are only four girls to go around, and plenty of interest. I’ve narrowed my choice down to two that would be suitable for the kinds of activities Gemma and I do. That is, lots of exercise, obedience, agility, and loooooong walks. Often in excess of 30km [...] Anyone who’s trained a dog to Utility (UD) level knows it’s damned hard to find anyone to work with you on a consistent basis. We lucked in and reconnected with an old training partner today. I’m afraid that between having three (two more than usual!) people in the ring, and the Monster Trucks revving [...] Got a few errands to run, and a bit of training to do with Gemma. The pups had their metered doses of the worming suspension today (a few days after their C4 vaccination shots) a bit late, but to stop any double-jeopardy interaction between the two. It was already ‘nap’ time, so they won’t [...] Wonderful to see the detail in the shadows while still seeing the texture in their collars for a change! It used to be one or the other.
